The EB2 and EB2D semi-hollowbody basses are the most elegant of all Gibsons creations.
The EB2 has one pickup at the neck, the EB2D has a second by the bridge to create a wider tonal range. The "baritone" switch creates a superb bass tone, which explains why this bass features heavily in 1960s Rock and in Reggae.

The EB2 has remained a RocknRoll standard for over 30 years. This is an Excellent original example of one of Gibsons best. A 100% Original 1968 Gibson EB-2D in factory Burst finish with chrome parts. This is a very collectable bass in all original, Excellent Collector condition, 8.75//10, clean and showing only minor light play wear. There are no breaks or repairs and the hardware is all original. There is one extra tiny screw hole under the ear of the bridge cover. The case is also in excellent condition. The guitar is nice weight coming in at 9.4 lbs. Serial # 905860. Maple Body with Mahogany neck, Brazilian Rosewood Board, Chrome Hardware 2 Original Pickups Original Pots and Caps. 100% Original Hard Shell Case recovered.

The tone is full and rich. The neck is medium taper profile getting even thicker at the 12th fret. The guitar plays beautifully, with the deep tone produced by the barritone switch-a reason these basses were often used for Reggae as well as Rock music by players such as Chas Chandler of the Animals.
